OK, I just finished reading through the whole thread and came across Lovitars posts.
While frustrated that it seems that a stylist will never be implemented, I still would like to suggest on having a broader selection of hair styles, faces, and such at the character creation screen.
Simply put, faces and hairstyles are gender specific. Not class specific.
Second suggestion: Still make the hair dyable at the character selection. Instead of a preselected choice of colors, you can choose how dark/light or even multi colored you hair could be (within feasible reason).
If players cant change what they have now, let us be able to have more options at the beginning of the game. It would help against seeing many clones running around,
Also, for those who have the different chapters, I would like to be able to select ANY hairstyle (faces maybe) from any of the chapters at the character selection screen (or at stylist at least if implemented). There are styles I like from each chapter but I wish I could select a hairstyle from one character from one chapter and use it on another chapters character. Even better would be able to have ALL the hairstyles (or even faces too) available to any profession from any chapter. However, I may be hoping for too much.

I would love to see a hairstylist ingame. That salon would make more money than all the weapon and armor guys put together.
However, I understand that the developers are probably busy on more important aspects of the game. In the meantime, I'd like to suggest a rather simple change. If Gaile Gray or anyone else with influence is reading this, would it be quick and easy to make hair dyable?

NOTE
i am in favor of as many choices as possible right down to the color of your eyes on creating your character.
i am not against more choices because i personally would like a ton more myself.
the devs have said once a character is created and you hit the last create button, that character is linked to your account and after that is UNCHANGABLE.
not that they will not, but they can not change the created account which has the character in it

Not sure thats true any more. You char can be a wurm, elf, candy thing, and a kournan. Also hair and faces were changed for existing chars during a few updates so a change to the characters model is possible.
A possible solution is temporary dye that lasts a long as the login session..

However
However, if that temporary dyeing of the hair would be enabled, people here at Guru and other places would ask (and sadly, some demand) that it be made permanent for a character.
But, you do bring up a very good point Shanaeri, that we can be turned into an Elf, a Kouran, a wurm, a candy corn come to life and who knows what else now. So how isn't it possible to change someone's hair style, and select a new color of hair now at this stage of development?

I wasn't saying you were against it..chalk it up to me not coming across very well in my post.
I was trying to say, from what you had repeatedly posted, that it would seem that the in game stylist would not be implemented. From that post, I was trying to give another option that could/should be made available.

according to the programmers/devs it was designed for security so the accounts couldnt be altered after creation.
i think these people are qualified to say *no can do*
the elf/candycorn man /etc are one size fits all special effects that do not change the account.
the graphics bug did not change the account.

I Dont know who this Dev or Dave is but im assuming hes one of Anet's workers? Well I'm really really really really looking forward to what he says, will it be yes or no? I just want the answer now so i can finnally delete my chars and start over again or keep it.
I dont like reading Loretheing's words, maybe its a just lie. I do not believe that "once you Confirm A character, it cannot be changed anymore". I do not believe in that. Foo
Im sorry if this was demanding.

Dev is short for Developer
And sorry to burst your bubble, but once you confirm a character, you CANNOT change the features on it, apart from weapons and armour
This is why some of us, including most of the mods (moderators) on this and other forums have characters that are nearly 2 years old now and really and desperatly hope they add this small money sink feature

Indeed. I do want this..
It would be fun to put a goatee on my Elementalist and remove it from my Mesmer, or change the length/style of ones hair or darken the other.

I remember a while ago I logged in on my war and my hair was changed. For 3 days it stayed like that untill it got fixed. I mean a whole new style, not like some graphics glitch or something. I think it is possible. And I hope it is done.
